Practical solutions and leadership that listens, Nadia Guerrera.

For more than 20 years, Nadia has lived, worked, and served communities across Ward 4 as a longtime educator, community leader, and problem solver. She began her teaching career at Parkdale Collegiate and went on to teach in several schools across the ward, building lasting relationships with students, families, and neighbourhood organizations. Working in classrooms throughout Ward 4 gave her a front-row seat to the challenges residents face—from affordability and housing to access to public spaces and city services—and reinforced her belief that strong communities are built through collaboration.

With a background in urban geography and an MBA, Nadia has dedicated her career to turning complex challenges into practical solutions. She helped launch the Centre for Healthy Communities, bringing together educators, employers, health providers, and community organizations to improve workforce development, health, and social services.

Her commitment to community extends beyond her professional career. Nadia has served on the

boards of a Community Health Centre and an Ontario Health Team, helping advance more integrated, sustainable approaches to health and housing.

Nadia is also the founder of Orwell Art, an international education initiative that teaches young people about democracy and civic engagement through the arts. She developed nationally adopted educational resources on the Ukrainian Holodomor that promote media literacy and critical thinking. Here in Ward 4, she also led an urban gardening initiative that brought together students, seniors, and local non-profits to strengthen community connections while addressing food insecurity.

Whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or the community, Nadia has built her career by bringing people together to solve problems. She believes City Hall works best when it listens to residents, focuses on practical solutions, and delivers results that improve everyday life.

Nadia lives in the west end with her wife, Lucy, and their dog, Duke Ellington.
